COMING TO AMERICA

Joe Mark, aged 40, arrived on March 2, 1920 from Liverpool to New York on the ship The Imperator. He was destined for his brother-in-law (one of the Ginsburg's) at 140 144th Street. This was Joe's second trip to New York.

Rebecca "Betty" Mark (listed as Marks) arrived Nov 14, 1921 in New York from Liverpool in the ship The Baltic. She left her mother at 61 Julia Street in Manchester and once in NY went to her father Joe at 22-28 W. 19th St. She was discharged however, to her uncle David Ginsburg, who resided in the Bronx.

 

Pearl "Bertha" Mark arrived on Nov 3, 1923 from Southampton (left Oct 25th) to New York on the ship The Belgenland, destined for Joe at 28 W. 19th St. They left from Joe's brother Ely Mark at 53 Birch St in Manchester. The family was written down as Marks. With Pearl came her children listed as, Helen, Abraham (Abie), Harry (Harold), Jane (Jean a/k/a Ginny), Simon (Louie whose middle name was Simon), Jacob (Jackie), and Dora (Doris).
